18th Century Italian Venetian Carved and Polychrome Headboard
 
18th century hand carved baroque frame with ochre polychrome, flower spreads and partly gilded decoration. The wall mounted headboard is upholstered with original period Venetian Crimson Floral Damask textile. The elegantly shaped molding is made for a single bed size. The condition is good. The frame is showing the old joinery techniques. Beautiful patina. Fabric has some light stains. Wear commensurate with age and use.
