19th Century English Regency Converting Music Stand Occasional Table

 

This English Regency Period adjustable mahogany music stand is very unusual. It converts from an occasional table into a duet music stand. An ingenious mechanical concept, David Roentgen could have invented, has created this extraordinary piece of furniture. The simple, yet elegant design is made with mahogany wood and brass fitting devices and results in an aesthetic and incomparable piece of innovative furniture. This piece provides bi-directional tilt and extends it’s height from 30 1/2 “ to 39 1/2“ . The heavily constructed central column features a robust iron threaded rod. It is a stunning example of mechanical furniture. In great order throughout, it is a very pleasing and versatile piece.
