Antique Iznik Albarello Glazed Earthenware Pottery
 
Rare Islamic pottery albarello from Iznik. The body is highly glazed and decorated with cobalt blue floral design. The collar and the base are unglazed. The off-white surface is covered in fine crackles. On each side is a handle with lion heads. Iznik, the name of a town in Western Anatolia, was the site of the pottery makers of the Ottoman Empire.
 
Good antique condition, commensurate with wear and age.
