This beautiful Imari porcelain centrepiece or jardinière is polychrome hand enameled with birds and flowers, set on a white background. The interior is fully decorated. This exquisite bowl is painted with classic Imari red overglaze, cobalt blue underglaze and gold leaf highlights. It is mounted in a bronze ormolu frame with two handles, combining a pierced border and scrolled base. The porcelain bowl is marked on the bottom with iron red Japanese characters.
