Late 19th Century Louis XVI Style Kingwood Marquetry 2 Drawer Commode
 
This glowing tulip and kingwood marquetry commode in the Louis XVI style is richly adorned with gilded bronze ornaments. The fine veneer and marquetry work of the Louis cube design is utilized on 3 sides and the top. The slender and graceful cabriole legs, finished in gilded bronze hooves, flow from the ornamented serpentine apron. This commode, with curved sides and corner bronzes opens in the front to 2 drawers, each balanced with 2 circular bronze pulls.
